Five on Friday
7:49:00 AM
Hi Y'all.
I took a break from Five on Friday last week due to the fact that I just needed some rest from juggling it all. Being a mama is sometimes just enough and it's okay to lay some stuff down and choose rest. Something I have spent most of my early motherhood learning. Naps. Are. Ok. They are needed sometimes in order to be a better wife and mother to your littles.
Here are my five...
ONE:
THIS WEEK (March 2nd) begins our very first blog series called Inspire Me. I am asking that you help me to inspire others by submitting your DIY projects and How-To's and/ or any Inspirational Stories and Testimonies of how God has used you for His Kingdom. More details are found (here).
Email me your entries (here) and let's INSPIRE.
TWO:
I received an email a few weeks ago from a desperate mama seeking help about "how to homeschool" with such crazy little ones running around. I laughed because before every "perfect" picture like this one... there are about 20 storms that have taken place previously. Of course I had some strategies and advice, but my main advice... Prayer and Survive. Homeschooling is one of the hardest things I have ever committed myself to do. Sure, it is rewarding and I love it, but there are so many moments when I almost lose my mind. The important thing is don't pretend you have it all together... reach out to one another. I valued my conversation with this other mama and it brought so much freedom in my own homeschooling journey.
THREE:
This was me delivering my design ideas to one of the most awesome clients ever!! I was excited to say the least. My favorite part was seeing the relief when they realized that there was a "plan" in place for their home and that they could actually love what they see in their space. Their home was a mixture of hand-me-downs and nothing truly reflected their personalities. I love to bring a combination of new ideas and some DIY ideas to the design board. Designing a new space doesn't have to break the bank and I love watching a space transform using things you already have. A touch of paint, repositioning furniture and decluttering can do wonders for your space. Plus a good Yard Sale and the use of Craigslist is the perfect way to clean your pallet and earn the extra money for the new pillows and lamp shades you want.
FOUR:
Thursday was End It Movement Day... A day to stand for the end of all human trafficking. Yes people, it still goes on and it happens right here in the good ole USA. It's time we wake up. Our whole family is #InItToEndIt. We marked a red X on our hands to represent that were were standing against trafficking, along with thousands of others. The End It Movement on Instagram was so awesome to see. There are several anti-trafficking organizations for you to get involved in. Awareness and prayer is one way that you can help NOW.
