Five on Friday: New Blog Design.

7:11:00 AM

Ummmm hello.  Notice anything different?
How about my whole new blog design?!? Eeeeeeek!!

Thanks to my awesome, talented friend Cat D. Moore, I have a new design that brings so much happiness to my writing and perfectly describes my personality.  It wasn't until half way through the actual blog design mock up, that we both realized that we had a "watercolor" theme going on here.  Out of all my "artsie-ness"... watercolor is my favorite to play with.
Am I good?  No, not at all.  But I love playing around with it.

About a year ago, a lady from our church prayed over me and when she finished, she said that she saw all different colors of heaven in her mind.  She said there were colors everywhere and she asked me if I was a painter.  I told her that I was a "closet painter" but would hardly call myself a painter.  She encouraged me to come out with my love for colors and creativeness and that I would find purpose in it and even more fulfillment.

I fully believe that this blog is the beginning representation of those colors.  I have found so much joy in writing lately and I am loving helping others become motivated and inspired to take initiative in their home and their home design.  I love hearing stories from readers saying how one post encouraged them to do something that they didn't know they could do.

That's why I blog.

Sure, I hope one day that it earns some income for my growing family.  Sure, I hope that one day I can better myself in designing where I actually feel more confident and legit.  But until then, I find so much fulfillment in your emails, your comments and your desire to step out and do something new.
I love that God has opened this door into your life by me just simply sharing my own.

So thank you.

::::::: Now onto the Five on Friday :::::::

Last week, I did 5 things around my house that I love (here).  I received tons of comments about how pretty my home is.  I loved the compliments, believe me, but I had to slightly laugh inside because if I could show you my whole house... whoa, you might be dismayed that I actually give "home advice" to others.

This WHOLE house is a work in progress.  With life surrounding us, the projects are endless and there are many things that are left undone until some new time opens up in our calendar days.  So I thought I would share some realness in my home.  Cause realness brings freedom.
And freedom is good.  So, so good.

ONE:
My speckled walls.  Yup, those are drywall patches from an old wall radio from the 1970's.  They are in every room, down every hallway and surround my day.  Sad part... I am completely used to them.

TWO:
The 2 inches of dust on my dresser.  I know it's there and it talks to me every time I pass to go to my bathroom, but the truth is... I have 3 little people around me all day and their talking is much louder and more important for the time being.  So, I will get to it and when I do, my husband is sure to make a joke.  But until then, my bedroom door will be closed if you come visit me.

THREE:
Nothing says SPRING more than a weed garden, right?  Well, we have one of those and even though our heart's desire is a lush, green lawn.... I am afraid that those dreams may have to wait until next year. I am very tempted though to just go out there and spray the whole yard with Round Up, just so my husband doesn't spend his precious summer mowing weeds. There is hardly a blade of grass out there.
I mean, sand would just be easier, right?

FOUR:
The garage... no words needed.
Except that a painting party and a yard sale are in the planning and this stuff just HAS to go.
But all American Dreams start in a garage, right?

FIVE:
The Laundry Room.  I mean some definite renovation is planned for this room (here), but until then it just seems to be chaos.  Which drives me crazy since these two babies are the nicest appliances in our whole house.  But after this summer, this room is sure to get a "redo."

I hope you enjoyed a peak into the "not so pretty" part of my home and I hope you can learn to laugh at the list that is weighing you down in the back of your mind.  Some times we just gotta "Let it Go."
I know, I know... I am almost sick of that song too.  But it's just so good.

And thanks to DarciAprilChristina, and Natasha for hosting all of this fun!
